Gospel Fund Grantees - October 2019

Congratulations to the following organizations, which have received Gospel Fund grants to support their missions...

Archbishop Borders School:   Baltimore, MD   $5000
    To fund robotics materials and equipment for the third semester of the STEM program

Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad:  San Salvador, El Salvador   $5000 
    To complete a dignified family home with electricity, indoor bath room and shower, and tile floor as well as the salary of the supervisor to oversee the construction

Found in Faith Ministries:  Joppa, MD   $4,800
    To finance the new program coordinator and equip a showroom for clients to “shop” with dignity

Institute of Notre Dame:  Baltimore, MD   $5000
    To augment a tuition scholarship for a senior who is a refugee student from Mauritania, West Africa

KinDoo Family Center:  Indiantown, FL    $5000
    To supplement operating expenses for programs in English, advanced sewing, nutrition, and child care for immigrant families 

Mother Seton Academy: Baltimore, MD    $5000
    To support retreat programs for middle school students and their families at spirituality centers

New Ways Ministry: Mt. Rainier, MD    $2000
    To pay for scholarships for 25-30 lesbian sisters to attend a retreat specifically focused on their needs and interests

Refugee Child Education Support:  Harlem, New York City    $5000
    To provide individual tutoring for a 12-year-old student with very little early education from the (DRC) Democratic Republic of the Congo who is now living in NYC with his family

Second Chance for Women:  Baltimore, MD    $5000
    To fund the program’s overhead expenses, including management of volunteers, travel, and office supplies, while offering services to women eligible for parole who have long term prison sentences for domestic violence charges 

School Sisters of Notre Dame Educational Center, Inc.:   Woodhaven, NY    $4500
    To subsidize the salary of an ESL teacher, to provide individual aluminum water containers to each student, and for technical support 

The Thomas More Project:   Baltimore, MD    $5000
    To offer low income families scholarships for their children to Catholic elementary schools and high schools

Tutwiler Community Education Center:  Tutwiler, MS    $5000
    To purchase 30 refurbished iPads for young women and men in the Teen Night Program and the After School Program in order to enhance their educational opportunities

Well for the Journey: Towson, MD    $2500
    To fund this Women’s Spirituality Group in offering programs which encourage and support spiritual wellness in daily life through innovative programs and resources at SSND Sponsored Ministries
