Heritage Pilgrimage 2019

Pilgrimage Trip

Twenty participants set out on the Heritage Pilgrimage, the fourth component to the AMSSND Ministry Formation Program, on June 18, 2019. Journeying to significant SSND sites in Bavaria, Vienna and Rome, pilgrims experienced first-hand the foundation, internationality and ministries of SSND. This year's Heritage pilgrimage participants - and new graduates of the formation program - included Suzy Blackburn, director of AMSSND Associates; Lucy Freeman, Executive Director, Caroline House; Academy of the Holy Angels' Jean Miller, Principal, and Joan Connelly, Mission Integration Coordinator; Corazón a Corazón's Mayra Pimentel, Volunteer and Intern Coordinator, and Margarita Silva, ESL Program Coordinator; and Mary Lou Yam, President, Notre Dame of Maryland University. Other pilgrimage participants include Institute of Notre Dame's Christine Szala, Head of School, and Lisa Wetzel, Assistant Head of School; Lisa Steward-Baugh, Executive Director, SisterHouse, Caelie Haines, AMSSND Communications Director; Laura Lang, AMSSND Development Director and Sister Charmaine Krohe, Provincial Leader. Sister Maria Iannuccillo, Heritage Pilgrimage coordinator, Yvonne DeBruin, AMSSND Ministry Services Director and Sister Judy Schaum, Assistant Director of Ministry Services attended the pilgrimage as staff members.
